Stop and stretch at least every ten or fifteen minutes during game play. Repetitive movements involved in gaming can be stressful for your body. Your muscles need to be properly stretched to avoid cramping and formation of blood clots. This keeps you healthy enough to game another day.

Ask staff at the game store to recommend games you might like. Many of them are gamers too, and will be able to enlighten you about certain games. They’ve played them all and will know the titles you seek.

If your children are quite young, you will want to completely disable all chat features. A very young child does not need the interaction of a chat system and it can cause them to hear language that is not appropriate for their age of development. If, after looking at a game, you realize you can’t take off the chat feature, do not purchase it. Ask the staff at the store which games are the best bet.

Consider going to the library if you are looking to try a game before purchasing. Some public libraries have video games you can borrow or try. The library usually has game titles for all different systems, so simply call ahead and see if they have the title you want.
